Singing in a group has been an integral part of social living for millennia. SuperMindLab considers it as one of the most exhilarating, meditative and transformative tools for cultivating a flourishng and healthy mind.

Join our cohort-based innovative Singing SuperMind program that helps you develop a smarter, healthier, happier, focused, self-confident, cooperative, communicative and creative mind while reducing stress and anxiety.

Recent scientific studies have found that singing in a group releases serotonin and oxytocin, the “socializing” hormones, and even synchronizes our heart beats! Group singing helps us feel relaxed, happy and connected. Singing engages the right side of our brain which is responsible for intuition, imagination and creativity.

In essence, with a corpus of 5-10+ songs and various singing and humming exercises, we will combine the elements of plain group singing, a cappella and choir in a creative way. The guidance will emerge from within the group. A professional will be engaged if desired by the group. We will learn a little about the science of how music and singing transform our brains.

The outcome of each cohort is unique based on their enthusiasm, dynamics and efforts. The cohort will help select songs and other creative musical elements. There will be a capstone project (performance to friends and family!) at the end of the program and possibility of continuing beyond the program for fun practices and performances at social events and picnics this summer.

WHAT IT IS NOT: NOT a music or singing lesson class, although we will have many small vocal and humming exercises. NOT a heavy teacher-led program although some professional guidance may be sought by a cohort. NOT a top-down approach but a collaborative and creative group approach. NOT a karaoke with potpourri of songs but a structured approach to improving our group singing every week with the target of a capstone project. NOT a party on high (alcohol or otherwise!) but elevating our sober minds to learn to enjoy singing and socializing!
