Social Dancing has physical, social and cognitive elements that helps enhance many qualities of a SuperMind. Dancing reduces stress, increases levels of the feel-good hormone serotonin and develops new neural connections, especially in regions involved in executive function, long-term memory and spatial recognition.
Join our cohort-based innovative Dancing SuperMind program that combines elements from different dance types including salsa, line dancing, Bollywood and folk dances. Social dancing makes us cultivate a happy, healthy, focused, self-confident, cooperative, communicative and creative mind while reducing stress and anxiety. Dance involves sensory, motor, cognitive, social, emotional, rhythmic, creative, inter-personal and intra-person coordination aspects of the brain. We will not only try multi-cultural dance routines but also engage in Mindfulness movements (akin to Tai Chi and Qi Gong).
We will combine elements of 2-3 different dance types in a creative way. There will be additional exercises and practicing incrementally complex steps. The guidance will emerge from within the group. A professional may be engaged. We will learn a little about the science of how dancing transforms our brains.
The outcome of each cohort is unique based on their enthusiasm, dynamics and efforts. The cohort will help select songs and dances. There will be a capstone project (performance to friends and family!) at the end of the class and possibility of continuing beyond the program for fun practices and performances at social events.

NOT a single dance type mastery class but eclectic combination of moves from different styles. NOT a club or party dancing but a structured approach to improving our group dancing every week with the target of a capstone project. NOT a party on high (alcohol or otherwise!) but elevating our sober minds to learn to enjoy dancing and socializing!

Below examples are only for the illustrative purpose to give you an idea of how our practice and final capstone project may look like. We may achieve only a fraction of these videos but we will have 100% fun learning and making our minds healthier through dancing and social engagement.
